Established in 1988 by Bev & Mike, the current owners, The Star Inn attracts a cross section of clientele from students to professionals, eighty percent of whom are French.  It has a friendly atmosphere, attracting the locals who wish to sample the British ambience & try out their English language skills.  Visitors and other foreign residents include people who have lived in many parts of the world, enriching the cultural mix still further.

Sit & relax with a quiet drink in one of our three rooms, but if you would like to meet new people we are always on hand to make introductions.  Our pub quiz is designed for interaction with questions being posted on the walls & it's a bit of a free for all, with 20 euros of free drinks going to the winning team.  Questions are both in French & English, and answers can be obtained by bartering with other teams or by plain cheating (although no reference books allowed!).

On Wednesday afternoons, from midday, we offer a free English book exchange, with over 1000 books to choose from.  We also act as an ordering and pickup point for British groceries supplied by 'The Panier Company' .  We have a variety of hot dishes, salads, sandwiches & ploughman lunches to choose from whilst making your selections.  As a result Wednesday lunchtimes tend to have a more British flavour.
